For four days this week, Texas will be the center of the moto universe as the 2015 X Games get set to invade Austin. ESPN will kick off coverage Thursday, June 4, with a live telecast of one of the newest X Games disciplines, Harley-Davidson Flat Track Racing. After Harley launched a social media campaign last year to get flat track racing into the X Games, this year will be the first official race on a new 3/8-mile dirt track. Competitors are fresh off competing in the Sacramento Mile last weekend and are hungry to etch their name in the record books as the first-ever X Games flat track winner.
Another new moto-wrinkle added to this year’s Austin X Games is the Toyota Moto X QuarterPipe contest. This is a best trick contest with riders on motocross bikes launching off a quarter-pipe. Six freestyle Moto X QuarterPipe competitors get two runs each with their best score tallied in final rankings. Competitors will be judged on technicality, smoothness, and innovation. The Toyota Moto X QuarterPipe Final takes place Sunday, June 7.
Look for the Harley-Davidson Flat Track results on Motorcycle-USA as we’ll be at the X Games to report on the action. Also, below is a list of all Moto X Austin X Games event so you can set your DVRs and catch all the action.
